Description:
The Ville de Québec is seeking a dedicated and experienced Recreation Equipment Coordinator to join the Section des affaires administratives under the Service des loisirs, des sports et de la vie communautaire. This permanent, full-time role involves managing logistics, operations, and personnel related to over 250 recreational facilities and over 1000 casual employees across Québec City.
The selected candidate will work to optimize user satisfaction by ensuring high-quality services through effective communication, supervision, training, and support of casual employees. This role offers a significant opportunity to directly impact the quality of community recreation services provided to citizens.
Coordinate and assign casual staff, manage their schedules and resolve conflicts promptly.
Supervise and guide casual staff in delivering superior customer service at recreational facilities.
Train, support, and evaluate employees to enhance their technical and interpersonal skills.
Collaborate with various operational sections to assess training needs and improve procedures.
Oversee onboarding for new employees via structured mentorship programs.
Monitor and assess the impact of training initiatives on service quality and citizen satisfaction.
Identify and implement workflow improvements and standardized operational procedures.
Manage real-time scheduling challenges including absences and urgent replacements.
Address and resolve citizen complaints and information requests efficiently.
High school diploma (DES) with a minimum of 4 years of directly related experience.
Proven expertise in last-minute and unionized workforce schedule management.
Strong multitasking capabilities and the ability to deliver under high-pressure, high-volume environments.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make quick, informed decisions.
Proficiency in digital tools and platforms such as Excel and Agendrix.
Ability to thrive in a culture of continuous improvement.
Exceptional customer service orientation, organizational and logistical planning skills.
Strong team collaboration and communication abilities.
Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate and influence teams.
Valid Class 5 driver’s license and willingness to travel within city limits as part of duties.
Monthly Salary: Approx. CAD 4,609 to 6,944 depending on relevant experience.

Weekdays: 1:00 PM – 11:00 PM
Weekends: 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Fixed slots include:
Mon–Fri: 5:00 PM – 8:30 PM
Sat–Sun: 8:00 AM – 10:00 AM and 2:30 PM – 4:00 PM
