Description:
The Salvation Army is seeking a Receptionist to provide administrative, clerical, and special project support to managers and staff. This position plays an essential role in ensuring the smooth functioning of daily operations and delivering professional, compassionate service to community members, clients, and visitors.

Draft and type correspondence, letters, and administrative documents
Answer and screen phone calls; respond to inquiries; greet visitors
Manage filing (electronic and physical), photocopying, scanning, and email distribution
Build and maintain databases (volunteers, contacts, inventories, hours, etc.)
Input and update records in S.A.M.I.S. (Salvation Army Management Information System)
Prepare presentations, brochures, invitations, ads, and certificates
Schedule meetings, prepare agendas, take minutes, and distribute them
Manage calendars, travel arrangements, and reminders
Process incoming/outgoing mail and parcels
Order and maintain office and kitchen supplies
Assist with paperwork for projects such as community service orders and ministry reviews
High school diploma plus up to six months of specialized administrative training
Minimum 2 years of administrative or financial coordination experience
Strong proficiency in Office365 (Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel)
Experience with office equipment
Experience in payroll systems, reporting, or childcare management systems is an asset
WHMIS training, First Aid/CPR, and Criminal Record Check (required)
Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training (required)
Valid driver’s abstract (may be required)
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Strong time-management and organizational abilities
Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Professional communication (written and verbal)
High level of discretion with confidential information
Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
Collaborative, adaptable, and able to handle interruptions
Sound judgment and effective problem-solving skills
Ability to sit, walk, bend, and lift up to 10 pounds
Exposure to workplace risks such as verbal abuse, infectious diseases, and physical strain
Must follow health and safety protocols, including universal precautions
Potential exposure to environmental hazards (slippery surfaces, odours, etc.)
