Quality Production Associate

 

Description:

INNIO Group is seeking a Quality Production Associate – Machining (Afternoons) to join their Welland facility. The successful candidate will report to the Quality Lead – Machining and will be responsible for ensuring manufacturing quality readiness, supporting quality assurance processes, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to uphold high product standards. This role involves applying advanced quality theories, continuous improvement concepts, and analytical practices to ensure adherence to internal procedures and regulatory requirements while delivering high-quality products to customers.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and execute all Quality Assurance activities to ensure compliance with regulatory, QMS, customer, and engineering standards.

  • Oversee quality processes, manage detected nonconformances, and lead corrective and preventive actions.

  • Collaborate with the Production Quality team on MRB process activities for assigned product lines.

  • Support root cause analyses (8D, DMAIC, PDCA, 5 Why, Fishbone) and develop resolution plans.

  • Drive improvements for primary quality metrics and key business objectives.

  • Coordinate containment, sorting, rework/repair, and concession activities.

  • Monitor nonconformance data trends and ensure thorough resolution of issues.

  • Inspect and evaluate products, services, and procedures for specification and customer compliance.

  • Utilize precision measurement equipment and apply metrological concepts for inspections.

  • Generate nonconformance reports and collaborate with engineering and supplier quality teams.

  • Support “Zero Defect” initiatives and continuous improvement activities.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical Engineering preferred) with 5+ years of relevant experience, or

  • Advanced degree with 3+ years of relevant experience, or

  • No degree with 9+ years of relevant experience.

  • Strong knowledge of GD&T principles and technical engineering drawings.

  • Quality experience in manufacturing (Aerospace or Automotive preferred).

  • ASQ “Certified Quality Engineer” or “Certified Quality Technician” certification (asset).

  • Familiarity with SPC, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, PFMEA, and quality problem-solving techniques.

  • Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

  • Flexibility to work in shifts (Afternoon shift role).
