The Quality Improvement Consultant supports quality improvement, patient safety, accreditation, and critical incident management initiatives. The role involves working with leadership and staff to develop policies, implement improvements, ensure accreditation readiness, and advance the organization’s Quality Improvement Plan (QIP).
Conduct analysis of patient safety incidents, quality indicators, and accreditation metrics to identify trends and improvement areas.
Lead and coordinate critical incident reviews, root cause analyses, and accreditation tracers.
Collaborate with clinical leaders and staff to develop and implement policies, procedures, and improvement strategies.
Support planning, implementation, and monitoring of the Quality Improvement Plan (QIP).
Engage frontline staff in quality and patient safety initiatives.
Provide project management and data analysis support for quality improvement, accreditation, and risk management initiatives.
Maintain systems supporting incident reporting, accreditation evidence collection, and QIP tracking.
Participate in quality, patient safety, and accreditation committees.
Undergraduate degree in business administration, healthcare administration, or health profession.
College degree/certificate in clinical practice, risk management, or healthcare administration.
Minimum 3 years’ experience in clinical risk management, quality improvement, accreditation, or related healthcare field.
Experience in critical incident management, patient safety, or accreditation preferred.
Member of a regulated college in Ontario preferred; Certified Risk Management designation is an asset.
Understanding of acute care environment, quality improvement, and patient safety methodologies.
Strong stakeholder management, teamwork, and workload management skills.
Exceptional computer skills; data management and statistical experience desirable.
