MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- A minimum of 5 years of work experience in Purchasing within a manufacturing setting.
- Direct experience managing junior buyers. This could include progressive discipline and termination and vacation tracking
- Purchasing experience with a company that manufactures metal parts
- Experience analyzing contracts and identifying issues
- Experience purchasing MRO
- Setting up parts in the system and calculating lead times
- Able to work at other sites, when necessary (Guelph and Stratford)
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Guide, mentor, and support the Junior MRO Buyer to achieve departmental objectives.
- Strive to meet cost reduction targets for MRO materials and services to enhance cost competitiveness, including quoting for all divisions where synergies exist.
- Conduct cost and consumption analysis, and inventory rationalization to aid spending controls and inventory production supplies, with weekly reporting.
- Prepare RFQs, analyze data, collaborate with facility leads to understand needs and expectations, negotiate with vendors, and work with plant leads to implement supply/service changes.
