As a Senior Manager, Earned Media, you will play a pivotal role in designing and executing media strategies, engaging with journalists and influencers, and landing high-profile media coverage for clients. You will provide senior-level counsel, lead activations, mentor junior staff, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver integrated campaigns that drive measurable results.
Key Responsibilities:
Build and strengthen relationships with journalists, influencers, and media stakeholders.
Develop innovative story ideas, draft compelling media materials, and pitch to secure earned media coverage.
Plan and oversee media events, client activations, and announcement launches.
Support executive visibility initiatives, including C-suite interviews and speaking engagements.
Develop strategic messaging, media plans, and proposals, incorporating integrated approaches across paid, owned, and earned channels.
Monitor industry trends, analyze media coverage, and provide insights for client strategies.
Mentor and coach junior team members, fostering professional growth.
Collaborate with strategists and creative teams to design innovative PR campaigns.
Manage client budgets, KPIs, and program staffing plans.
Deliver detailed reporting and showcase measurable outcomes of PR programs.
Requirements:
5–7 years of public relations/media relations experience, ideally in agency or corporate settings.
Strong expertise in earned media, influencer engagement, event planning, and program execution.
Established media and influencer relationships, with proven ability to translate connections into coverage.
Skilled in drafting pitches, press releases, and strategic communications.
Familiarity with retail, technology, or small business sectors (an asset).
Strong leadership, mentoring, and client-counseling abilities.
Excellent communication, negotiation, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
Experience collaborating with integrated agency teams and diverse internal stakeholders.
