Description:
This position is responsible for the following:
- Annual filing of account income taxes which includes:
- Review and verification of system calculation of T5, T3 & NR4 tax supplementary slips
- Review and verification of T3 Trust Information and Tax return details, ensuring that all special handling instructions are considered, and action taken as required to ensure accurate filing.
- Filing of T3 Trust Information and Tax returns – both on-line and paper format, ensuring that all necessary tax is paid by the CRA deadline.
- Coordinating the annual reporting for various Compliance activities (FATCA, CRS)
- Serving as the Oil Royalties Project Manager as required. Given the nature of the business, there are often projects that require investigation, planning and coordination.
- Serving as the SME/Application Owner for the inhouse application that maintains the account and holder data and calculates payments and taxes. There is an on-going need for application development which requires gathering of requirements, communication with the Development Team, and User acceptance testing.
- Providing Department support by assisting with audit of work done in the area of transfer processing and by reviewing and providing guidance in response to escalated inquiries.
