Description:

Airbus Canada is seeking a Project Manager – Competitiveness to join the A220 commercial aircraft Programme in Mirabel, Québec. This role is a key part of the Competitiveness Management Team, responsible for driving and monitoring activities that continuously improve the competitiveness of the A220 programme.

The position involves leading initiatives that cover commercial negotiations, cost-reduction redesigns, manufacturing optimizations, and other strategic efforts aimed at reducing recurring costs. The role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams, executive-level decision-making, and portfolio management to achieve business objectives while ensuring financial, operational, and strategic alignment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Continuously challenge and re-evaluate portfolio strategies, investment plans, and selection criteria to achieve cost-reduction targets.

  • Validate and review deviations from investment criteria across product portfolios and rebalance resources as needed.

  • Manage budgets dynamically based on financial data (non-recurring and recurring costs) to maximize ROI and secure portfolio targets.

  • Ensure strong risk and opportunity management across product portfolios, including quantification and mitigation plans.

  • Oversee and track cross-program projects to enrich and optimize the overall portfolio; initiate feasibility studies for complex topics.

  • Consolidate and present recommendations and insights to Airbus Canada and Airbus senior executives for strategic decision-making.


Qualifications & Skills

  • University degree in administration, finance, project management, or a related field.

  • At least 10 years of relevant experience in the aviation industry.

  • Strong background in project management with additional exposure to programme, finance, or procurement.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, persuasion, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to influence and challenge senior executives while maintaining collaboration.

  • Strong financial and business acumen, with capability to manage complex portfolios.

  • Comfortable working in a dynamic, complex environment applying programme management principles.

  • Bilingual proficiency in French and English (oral and written).
