Description:
Waterfront Toronto is seeking a Project Manager, Communications & Public Engagement to lead strategic communication initiatives and public outreach efforts for waterfront revitalization projects. This role involves developing and implementing multi-channel communication campaigns, stakeholder engagement strategies, and public programming to enhance awareness and community involvement in Toronto’s urban transformation.
✅ Develop and execute public and stakeholder engagement strategies to inform projects and incorporate public input.
✅ Create and implement multi-channel communications campaigns to enhance awareness and engagement.
✅ Write and edit communications content, including newsletters, presentations, project webpages, and social media.
✅ Coordinate public programming and creative placemaking strategies to position future development sites as cultural and recreational destinations.
✅ Plan and execute virtual and in-person public meetings, workshops, and events to foster engagement.
✅ Cultivate relationships with internal teams, external partners, and stakeholders to ensure project success.
✅ Manage external consultants and vendors, ensuring project objectives and deadlines are met.
✅ Provide strategic advice on communication matters, including stakeholder management, reputational risk, and public relations.
✔️ 7 to 10 years of experience in communications, public relations, or community engagement.
✔️ Proven expertise in integrated communications, stakeholder consultation, and event management.
✔️ Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with attention to detail.
✔️ Experience in real estate or urban planning communications is a strong asset.
✔️ Knowledge of digital communication tools, social media, and traditional media strategies.
✔️ Ability to assess and manage stakeholder relationships effectively.
✔️ Project management experience, ensuring alignment with objectives and deadlines.
✔️ Proficiency in online engagement tools (e.g., SurveyMonkey, Mentimeter, Microsoft Teams, Zoom).
✔️ Adobe Creative Suite experience is an asset.
✔️ Familiarity with AI content tools (e.g., Microsoft CoPilot) is a plus.
✔️ Post-secondary degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, or related field.
✔️ IAP2, CPRS, or IABC membership/certification is an asset.
