Description:

The Director, Project Management at Cadillac Fairview will be responsible for overseeing the full process of pre-development, construction, and post-construction for various real estate projects. This role will include monitoring and advising on processes, liaising with internal departments, external consultants, and contractors, as well as ensuring that projects are completed on schedule and within budget. The Director will play a key role in negotiating contracts, managing risks, and maintaining relationships with stakeholders. This position reports to the Senior Director.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review reports, invoices, project documents, and development information

  • Monitor project milestones, events, and required information submissions

  • Organize daily schedules to handle unexpected requests and deadlines

  • Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders

  • Negotiate credits and value engineering with consultants and contractors

  • Organize meetings with contractors/consultants to discuss scope and alternatives

  • Assist with preparation of budgets, pro-formas, and schedules

  • Select consultants and contractors, and prepare monthly project status reports

  • Support internal audit processes and stay current with community and construction issues

  • Apply relevant policies and regulations, including Health & Safety and Environmental standards

  • Proficiency in project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Procore, and Primavera

  • Strong knowledge of the Building Code and industry-related technology

  • Capability to work under pressure and embrace change

  • Ability to complete multiple simultaneous projects from start to finish

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction/Project Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience)

  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in construction, real estate development, architecture, or engineering

  • Experience in retail and office property renovation and expansion projects

  • LEED and/or PMP certification is an asset

  • Ability to conduct site visits, including exposure to physical elements (PPE required)

  • Willingness to travel as needed
