Description:

The University of Toronto Centre for the Study of Pain is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Lead to oversee the SafeOp Perioperative Pain Management Initiative. This initiative focuses on improving opioid prescribing and perioperative pain management practices for opioid-naïve adult patients undergoing elective surgery.

The Project Lead will be responsible for guideline updates, stakeholder engagement, and knowledge dissemination to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

🔹 Project Management & Implementation

  • Develop the overall project design, scope, and schedule.
  • Plan and implement project phases, ensuring smooth execution of deliverables.
  • Monitor financial accounts, budgets, and project metrics.
  • Identify potential roadblocks and develop mitigation strategies.

🔹 Stakeholder Engagement & Knowledge Mobilization

  • Organize healthcare engagement sessions to promote best practices.
  • Develop knowledge materials (e.g., slide decks, infographics, and interactive modules).
  • Establish partnerships with healthcare professionals, professional associations, and academic institutions.

🔹 Research & Evidence Synthesis

  • Coordinate literature reviews to update pain management guidelines.
  • Work with key opinion leaders, patient representatives, and clinicians to ensure the effective dissemination of best practices.

Essential Qualifications:

✔ Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
✔ 6–7 years of project management experience (preferably in healthcare, pain management, surgery, or anesthesia).
✔ Experience with Health Canada projects and reporting.
✔ Strong background in knowledge translation and dissemination strategies.
✔ Excellent relationship-building, communication, and time-management skills.
✔ Proven ability to manage budgets, project metrics, and competing priorities.

Preferred Qualifications (Assets):

âž• Experience in clinical guideline development and implementation.
âž• Ability to communicate in French is an asset.
