Description:
ClickUp is seeking a Senior AI Engineer – AI Platform to architect, build, and maintain the company’s AI platform while applying large language models (LLMs) to deliver intelligent, user-facing features. The role focuses on backend systems that ensure scalable, reliable, and secure AI-powered capabilities and requires close collaboration with product, frontend, and data teams to deliver impactful solutions.
The Senior AI Engineer will drive innovation by integrating multiple LLM providers, implementing MLOps best practices, and ensuring AI privacy, security, and regulatory compliance. The role also includes designing infrastructure for model serving, monitoring, logging, and automated evaluation to maintain high reliability and performance in production.
Key Responsibilities:
Architect, design, and implement scalable AI platform services for LLMs and AI models.
Apply LLMs to real-world product features across ClickUp.
Build and maintain robust APIs and backend systems for AI integration.
Develop infrastructure for model serving, monitoring, logging, and automated evaluation.
Integrate multiple LLM providers (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google) with model selection and fallback strategies.
Optimize platform performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency using cloud-native technologies.
Implement AI privacy, security, and compliance best practices.
Collaborate cross-functionally with product, frontend, and data teams.
Stay current with AI infrastructure, MLOps, and LLM applications, incorporating innovations.
Qualifications:
Extensive experience designing and building production AI/ML platforms.
Proven track record applying LLMs to user-facing product features.
Deep expertise in backend engineering, distributed systems, and cloud-native technologies (Kubernetes, Docker, AWS/GCP/Azure).
Experience integrating and managing multiple LLMs and AI models.
Proficiency with orchestration frameworks/workflow engines (LangGraph, Airflow, Kubeflow, Ray, or similar).
Strong programming skills in Python, Go, TypeScript, or similar languages.
Experience with MLOps best practices: deployment, monitoring, logging, automated evaluation.
Knowledge of AI privacy and security, data anonymization, and regulatory compliance.
Familiarity with search technologies and AI-driven application integration.
Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
