Description:

Nova Scotia Community College (NSCC) is seeking a Project Coordinator (PS3) to join its Department of Research Innovation and Workforce Development. Based in Halifax, this full-time term position will focus on managing projects related to skill development, research, and training in the marine, aerospace, and defence sectors.

Reporting to the Manager of Industry Partnerships, the Project Coordinator will work across internal teams and with external partners to support research, labour market analysis, proposal development, marketing, budgeting, and the full implementation cycle of various initiatives. Key responsibilities include stakeholder coordination, scheduling, reporting, evaluation, and relationship-building to support workforce development goals in strategic industries.

This role requires a blend of technical project management skills and sectoral knowledge, especially in training or research environments within the marine, oceans, and defence sectors. Flexibility for evening/weekend work and occasional travel outside Nova Scotia is required.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage multiple projects across sectors such as marine, aerospace, and defence

  • Conduct labour market research and support R&D and workforce initiatives

  • Coordinate proposal writing, planning, budgeting, implementation, and evaluation

  • Facilitate communications between internal and external stakeholders

  • Convene and manage stakeholder meetings, keeping projects on timeline and within budget

  • Develop reports and contribute to institutional planning efforts


Requirements:

  • Relevant Bachelor's degree or diploma in business, education, engineering tech, or related field

  • At least 3 years of project coordination experience with marketing, delivery, and evaluation responsibilities

  • Asset: Bachelor of Education, project management certification, or military ecosystem knowledge

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, and familiarity with platforms like Brightspace and PeopleSoft

  • Demonstrated excellence in organization, communication, and stakeholder engagement
