Description:
Defence Construction Canada (CDC) invites Indigenous students to apply for a temporary Project Assistant role supporting infrastructure projects on Canadian Forces bases. This opportunity provides hands-on experience in construction, project management, and administrative support within a fast-paced, professional environment.
Successful candidates will gain office and field experience, learning from professionals in a high-performing team, while contributing to real infrastructure projects.
Conduct research and prepare project-related documents for planning, implementation, and presentation.
Provide project and program management support.
Track and monitor contracts (construction, property management, environmental).
Ensure compliance with contract requirements and report deviations.
Maintain records, calendars, and documentation; draft reports.
Coordinate data and develop reporting tools using multiple data sources and automation technologies.
Support renovation and new construction projects.
Participate in construction tenders by reviewing plans and specifications.
Attend meetings with consultants, construction teams, and staff.
Provide general administrative support.
Must be an Indigenous student (First Nations, Inuit, or Métis) enrolled in a relevant program.
Minimum working age for Quebec and authorization to work in Canada.
Positive attitude, discretion, and adaptability.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other software.
Strong critical thinking, writing, and interpersonal skills; detail-oriented.
Ability to work independently.
Citizenship: Canadian citizen or permanent resident.
Security Clearance: Must be eligible for at least a Reliability security clearance. Some positions may require Secret level.
Temporary, full-time (2–4 months).
Office and field work, often on military bases.
