Description:

Kingston Health Sciences Centre (KHSC) is seeking a dynamic Program Manager to lead the Medical Imaging Department across all its sites. This is a strategic leadership role responsible for driving operational excellence, ensuring high-quality patient care, and cultivating a collaborative, growth-oriented work environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in optimizing resource use, enhancing service delivery, and fostering continuous improvement across KHSC’s imaging programs.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Operational Leadership & Quality Improvement:

    • Lead and support departmental operations across multiple hospital sites, ensuring high performance and quality patient care.

    • Drive continuous quality improvement initiatives, aligning with KHSC’s mission and values.

    • Implement and monitor departmental quality programs, performance indicators, and evidence-based best practices.

    • Ensure compliance with legislative and regulatory standards including the Healing Arts Radiation Protection Act and OHSA.

  • Resource & Staff Management:

    • Oversee health human resources, staffing models, and capital equipment inventory to ensure operational efficiency.

    • Regularly assess performance and provide coaching, feedback, and development opportunities.

    • Promote a culture of education by supporting Queen’s University Radiology Residency Program and other clinical training partnerships.

  • Strategic Planning & Communication:

    • Collaborate across programs and departments to strengthen interprofessional relationships and improve patient access and safety.

    • Generate and implement innovative ideas to improve patient flow, manage wait times, and optimize departmental logistics.

    • Maintain effective communication with stakeholders and provide departmental updates and guidance during staffing or resource constraints.

  • Fiscal Responsibility:

    • Monitor budget allocation and ensure financial stewardship in the management of operational and capital resources.

    • Analyze data trends, KPIs, and modality-specific metrics to guide strategic decisions and program development.

  • Safety & Compliance:

    • Ensure safety practices are adhered to and actively participate in incident reporting and resolution processes.

    • Foster a safe working environment aligned with KHSC policies and infection control procedures.


Qualifications:

  • Minimum Baccalaureate degree or diploma from an accredited University or College.

  • Background in Health Care Administration, Business Administration, Commerce, or Quality Management is an asset.

  • Certification or experience in LEAN, Six Sigma, or Project Management is highly desirable.

  • 3–5 years of progressive leadership experience, preferably in healthcare or medical imaging.

  • Registration with CMRITO or CNO is an asset.

  • Experience in adult education, data analysis, and regional healthcare initiatives preferred.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and intermediate computer skills.

  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and decision-making abilities.

  • Bilingualism (English and French) is preferred.

  • Satisfactory criminal reference check is required.
