This position is available immediately. We are looking for an enthusiastic candidate to support us in providing online training courses for educators. As an integral part of our organization, you will provide vital support to our training courses and play a crucial role in maintaining our learning management system portal. Additionally, you will be responsible for promptly responding to customer inquiries and assisting with technical issues. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, experienced in online course management, communications, and design, with a high level of initiative, creativity, and aptitude for problem-solving.

This is a remote work opportunity; however, the position will require some travel to Toronto at the candidate’s expense. Some flexibility with working hours will also be required. The candidate would be required to have their own equipment (computer/laptop) and high-speed internet access.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Training Course Support:
  • Assist in organizing and coordinating training courses, including participant registration and course material preparation.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for training course participants, addressing their inquiries and providing timely information.
  • Collaborate with board members, staff, and participants to ensure a smooth and efficient learning experience.
  • Assist in the preparation of documents, presentations, and other communications.
  • Additional duties as may be required.
  • Work independently and contribute to team meetings.
  • Learning Management System (LMS) Maintenance:
  • Administer the organization's learning management system, including creating and updating course content, user accounts, and enrollment details.
  • Monitor the LMS for technical issues, troubleshoot problems, and liaise with the technical team for timely resolution.
  • Regularly update and improve the user interface and functionality of the LMS to enhance the learning experience.
  • Customer Support:
  • Respond to customer inquiries via various communication channels (e.g., email, phone, chat) in a professional and empathetic manner. Escalate complex problems to the appropriate team members.
  • Provide accurate and comprehensive information about the charity's training courses, policies, and procedures.
  • Offer technical assistance to customers experiencing difficulties with the learning management system, software, or other related technical issues.
  • Troubleshoot common technical problems, guide customers through basic issue resolution steps and escalate complex issues to the technical team.
  • Document and maintain a comprehensive record of technical support interactions and resolutions.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Experience in Moodle, Blackboard, DWL or other LMS’s.
  • Ability to edit and upload videos to various platforms, including YouTube.
  • Experience in WordPress, Canva, Constant Contact, website creation, and maintenance.
  • Ability to connect graphic design to functionality and technical operation.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills.
  • Experience in a digital marketing
  • Experience programming websites with WordPress
  • Strong HTML, PHP, and CSS skills
  • Experienced with responsive programming.
  • Experience in programming JavaScript
  • Fantastic organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work in a highly confidential environment and use discretion when dealing with sensitive matters.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, effective at building relationships, and able to work well with colleagues and IDA stakeholders at all levels.
  • Friendly, with strong interpersonal skills, logical and efficient
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; other technology skills in website updates, forms, etc.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimum supervision.
  • Committed to excellence in work quality and critical attention to detail.
  • Efficiency and independence in a busy environment managing multiple projects, shifting priorities, and tight deadlines.
