Description:

Canada Goose, an iconic lifestyle brand rooted in Canadian heritage, is seeking a Supervisor, Production and Sewing to oversee sewing machine operators at its Scarborough production facility. This role is crucial to ensuring the efficiency, quality, and productivity of sewing operations, while fostering a safe and collaborative work environment that reflects the company’s values of resilience, innovation, and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and coordinate daily activities of sewing machine operators to ensure efficiency and achievement of daily quotas.

• Review production schedules, approved samples, and specifications before starting production for each purchase order.

• Calculate operator requirements based on efficiency, operations, and styles, then assign tasks accordingly.

• Train and provide ongoing instruction to sewing machine operators, ensuring clarity in processes and quality expectations.

• Monitor and evaluate operator performance, providing feedback, creating improvement plans, and escalating when necessary.

• Conduct regular quality checks throughout the production process to maintain standards.

• Track efficiencies and inefficiencies using daily payroll reviews.

• Maintain a safe and compliant work environment while communicating core company values.

• Collaborate with the Production Manager to address workforce performance and productivity needs.

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of sewing experience, preferably within apparel manufacturing.

• 2–3 years supervisory experience leading diverse teams.

• Strong knowledge of sewing machine operations.

• Effective leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse workforce.

• Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and manage challenges in a fast-paced environment.

• Commitment to maintaining safety, efficiency, and quality standards on the production floor.

• Comfortable standing for extended periods in a manufacturing setting.
