Process Technician

 

Description:

The Processing Technician is responsible for the safe operation of processing equipment to deliver quality product. You will work under the direction of the Production supervisors and will be responsible for establishing the overall start-up of product for the Dressings lines. While the overall duties may fluctuate as products, technologies, processes, ingredients, or ways of working are altered. The responsibilities focus on (4) key areas: Process Support, Filler, Ingredients and Sanitation.

 

Who You Are & What You’ll Do:

  • Responsible for weekly equipment usage planning for each process on all three lines as per the production schedule.
  • Manage communications with the Supervisor and Hygiene Technicians as required.
  • Transfer Egg Spice from storage tanks to central platform Egg spice storage tanks for all three lines.
  • Lead the process start up and troubleshoot process related issues by following standard work practices as defined in the operating procedures.
  • Supply quality product to the hopper for continuous line operation as per the production schedule.
  • Carry out cleaning and inspection activities and record any issues/problems with the equipment.
  • Ensures compliance of all safety and GMP procedures in processing area
  • Abide by all plant Safety, Health & Environmental (SHE) policies and actively participate in safety activities.

 

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Knowledge of WHMIS, LOTO, GMP, FIFO, HACCP
  • 3-4 years Manufacturing Experience in food and/or beverage industry
  • Problem Solving – A working knowledge of how to identify, prioritize, and address problems using appropriate tools and techniques that eliminate recurrence
  • Decision Making – Can make decisions to reject non-compliant products and to support the work plan for the day.
  • Teamwork – Must be a good team player capable of working within a highly effective team; responsible, supportive, and able to communicate effectively.
  • Administration – Conducts effective hand-over activities, records paperwork accurately and able to perform basic mathematical equations.
  • Basic mechanical knowledge and comfort using hand tools.
