Description:
Coinbase’s Privacy Operations team is looking for a Privacy Specialist to support the privacy assessments and issue management functions. In this role, you will work cross-functionally across Legal, Product, and Engineering teams to perform complex privacy assessments for new products/features and manage privacy requirements/issues throughout the product lifecycle.
What you’ll be doing (ie. job duties):
- Conduct complex privacy assessments for new products/features, synthesize and present analysis, and drive privacy risk remediation
- Perform regulatory requirement mapping for control requirement and identify need changes to privacy common controls framework
- Manage escalations to various levels of cross functional stakeholders, driving consensus and resolution in an efficient and timely manner
- Track privacy requirements and issues throughout the product lifecycle to ensure timely remediation and business accountability
- Develop close partnerships with Product and Engineering teams by embedding yourself into the product lifecycle and roadmap planning processes
- Identify and implement process improvements to streamline privacy assessments and privacy issue management processes
- Identify and implement creative ways to embed privacy by design principles into operational activities
What we look for in you (ie. job requirements):
- 1+ years of experience working in technology risk management (privacy or security discipline preferred)
- Experience with risk management frameworks (preferably in security or privacy) to objectively measure, monitor, and track risks
- Experience in validating risk remediation efforts
- A strong ability to understand and draw conclusions for product specs, data flows, and technical design documentation
- Ability to translate privacy legal guidance into functional requirements
- Knowledge of privacy best practices and knowledge of key privacy regulations/frameworks (e.g., CCPA, GDPR, PIPEDA, ePrivacy)
- Ability to effectively balance a high volume of privacy assessments against strategic priorities
- Comfortable navigating ambiguity and operating on unpaved roads in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to apply and tailor traditional privacy principles to innovative onchain and web3
- Excellent organization, communication (both written and verbal), and project management skills
