Description:
TYLin, a globally recognized infrastructure consulting firm, is seeking a Principal Project Manager for Rail + Transit to drive the expansion of its transit and transportation sector in Canada. This is a pivotal role that combines technical expertise, project delivery, and business development to make a lasting impact on the regional transportation landscape. The ideal candidate is a highly accomplished seller/doer, well-established in the Greater Toronto Area, with proven success in managing transit projects and fostering client relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage significant rail/transit projects as Project Manager or key team member.
Oversee financial, staffing, scope, and schedule management responsibilities.
Serve as technical lead for planning and/or design of major rail projects.
Track project deliverables and manage additional or out-of-scope work, including fee negotiation.
Ensure project quality through QA/QC processes.
Prepare project proposals for rail/transit clients and communicate TYLin capabilities.
Identify potential markets, clients, and opportunities; contribute to business plans.
Develop and maintain relationships with clients and partners; serve as Client Manager when requested.
Supervise and coach other Project Managers and technical staff.
Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field.
Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) preferably with P.E.O.
Strong business development experience with proven project management track record in transit, especially in GTA.
History of developing and maintaining effective client and peer relationships.
Membership in professional associations (e.g., Toronto Railway Club, AREMA, Canadian Urban Transit Association).
Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
