Description:

TYLin, a globally recognized infrastructure consulting firm, is seeking a Principal Project Manager for Rail + Transit to drive the expansion of its transit and transportation sector in Canada. This is a pivotal role that combines technical expertise, project delivery, and business development to make a lasting impact on the regional transportation landscape. The ideal candidate is a highly accomplished seller/doer, well-established in the Greater Toronto Area, with proven success in managing transit projects and fostering client relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage significant rail/transit projects as Project Manager or key team member.

  • Oversee financial, staffing, scope, and schedule management responsibilities.

  • Serve as technical lead for planning and/or design of major rail projects.

  • Track project deliverables and manage additional or out-of-scope work, including fee negotiation.

  • Ensure project quality through QA/QC processes.

  • Prepare project proposals for rail/transit clients and communicate TYLin capabilities.

  • Identify potential markets, clients, and opportunities; contribute to business plans.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients and partners; serve as Client Manager when requested.

  • Supervise and coach other Project Managers and technical staff.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field.

  • Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) preferably with P.E.O.

  • Strong business development experience with proven project management track record in transit, especially in GTA.

  • History of developing and maintaining effective client and peer relationships.

  • Membership in professional associations (e.g., Toronto Railway Club, AREMA, Canadian Urban Transit Association).

  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.

  • Client-focused, innovative, ethical, and collaborative mindset.

  • Demonstrated experience leading diverse and inclusive teams.
