Primary Care Physician

Calian Group is proud to continue its long-standing partnership with the Department of National Defence (DND) by providing high-quality healthcare services to the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF). Currently, they are seeking a Primary Care Physician for CFB Edmonton to deliver comprehensive, collaborative, and multidisciplinary primary healthcare to military personnel.

This on-site role offers weekday-only working hours from Monday to Friday, 7:30am to 4:00pm, with no evening, weekend, or on-call responsibilities, allowing physicians to maintain a true work-life balance. The position offers a guaranteed hourly rate without the burden of overhead or administrative fees often associated with private practice.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conducting comprehensive health assessments and synthesizing diagnostic information

• Managing acute and chronic illnesses, including pharmacological and counseling interventions

• Promoting health and disease prevention strategies

• Performing periodic medical evaluations to determine patient fitness

• Making informed medical employment limitation recommendations

• Collaborating with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure coordinated patient care

• Consulting with specialists and support staff as needed to ensure optimal patient outcomes

Required Qualifications:

• Licensed and in good standing with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta (CPSA)

• CCFP Certification (Certification in Family Medicine with the College of Family Physicians of Canada)

• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers or CPR/AED Level C Certification

Additional Requirements:

• Eligible to obtain Government Security Clearance at the Reliability Level

• Canadian Forces Basic Aviation and Dive Medicine Certification is an asset (not mandatory)
