Practical Nursing Program Instructor

Description:

Gabriel Dumont Institute, through its Dumont Technical Institute division, is seeking a Full-Time Instructor for the Practical Nursing Program in Regina, SK. The successful candidate will provide in-person instruction to a cohort of 14 practical nursing students and participate actively in both teaching and program planning.

You will be responsible for delivering practical nursing skills courses, including classroom instruction, laboratory sessions, clinical supervision, and assisting with pharmacology labs and skill testing. The instructor will assess student performance, provide feedback, and communicate student progress regularly.

Participation in team meetings and collaborative program planning with fellow practical nursing instructors will be required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Teach and facilitate practical nursing courses in a classroom, lab, and clinical setting

• Mark assignments and exams and track student progress

• Plan and administer labs and assist with pharmacology lab and skill testing

• Participate in team planning, meetings, and ongoing curriculum development

Qualifications:

• Registered Nurse with a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing

• Must be currently registered with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS)

• Certifications: TLR (Transferring, Lifting and Repositioning), CPR/BLS

• Proficient in Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, and Brightspace LMS (an asset)

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Familiarity with Métis culture and the ability to work with diverse populations

• Experience in mother/baby units is considered an advantage
