Description:
As an Instructor in CNA's Powerline Technician program, you'll play a key role in preparing apprentices and future journeypersons for success in one of the province's most essential and respected trades. You'll bring your field experience to life in the classroom, lab, and training yard, where students gain the hands-on skills and confidence to perform safely and effectively on the job.
You Will
- Deliver practical training on building, repairing, and maintaining overhead and underground power lines used to conduct electricity from generating plants to customers.
- Teach and demonstrate how to:
- Lead students through safe work practices, emphasizing electrical safety, fall protection, and the importance of teamwork and communication.
- Use your real-world experience to connect course content to field applications, ensuring graduates are confident and job-ready.
- Collaborate with other instructors and industry advisors to keep curriculum aligned with current technologies, safety standards, and industry regulations.
- Contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment that reflects the professionalism, safety culture, and respect essential to the trade.
- Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with emerging tools, equipment, and training standards.
- This is a campus-based, in-person position located at CNA's Happy Valley Goose Bay campus.

Screening Criteria
- Completion of Interprovincial Journeyperson Certification in Powerline Technician (Operating).
- Minimum of six years combined apprenticeship training and recent related trade specific industry experience.
