Description:

L’École nationale de police du Québec (ENPQ) is currently creating a bank of qualified candidates to serve as instructors in the initial training program for patrouille-gendarmerie. These positions are open to active members of the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal, Sûreté du Québec, and other municipal police departments across Quebec. This opportunity allows experienced officers to contribute directly to shaping the next generation of police professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Guide and support aspiring officers in developing their professional competencies within a simulated police station environment.

  • Deliver instruction in one of the core subject areas: tactical operations, traffic safety, or police interventions.

  • Design and facilitate experiential learning activities, monitor trainee progress, and evaluate performance.

  • Provide academic and behavioral support to trainees.

  • Participate in pedagogical days and assist with research and development related to course content.

  • Supervise field patrol activities.

Conditions of Work:

  • Work schedule is based on ENPQ's pedagogical needs (9-hour days).

  • Evening and occasional weekend shifts, with potential overtime during statutory holidays.

  • Required to complete an ENPQ-led induction program to gain instructional competencies.

  • Annual additional compensation ranging from $7000 to $10000.

Admission Criteria:

  • Must be an active police officer.

  • Must have completed the initial patrol training program at ENPQ or hold recognized equivalency.

  • Minimum 7 years of service as a police officer, including 3 years in patrol.

  • Must not hold a rank higher than sergeant.

  • Must demonstrate exemplary conduct within their organization.

Assets (Preferred Qualifications):

  • Certification as a qualified technician for breathalyzer operation.

  • Completion of the following ENPQ courses:

    • Coordination Movement Tests (209-205-08)

    • Alco-Sensor FST (209-105-13) or Alco Sensor IV DWF (209-104-06)

  • Recognized as a trainer in ECM or ADA activity areas.

  • Recognized instructor in use of force or physical intervention.
