Description:
London Health Sciences Centre (LHSC) is one of Canada’s largest acute-care teaching hospitals, located in southwestern Ontario, two hours from both Toronto and Detroit. The Pharmacist is responsible for ensuring the safe and effective use of medications for patients admitted to LHSC. This involves reviewing and monitoring drug therapy, collaborating with healthcare professionals to resolve drug-related issues, and educating patients on medication use. Pharmacists also mentor and precept undergraduate and resident pharmacy students.
Rate of Pay: CA$52.16 – CA$65.20 per hour
Hours of Work:
Regular Full-Time: 37.5 hours/week (guaranteed hours)
Temporary Full-Time: 37.5 hours/week (up to 6–18 months)
Regular Part-Time: up to 22 hours/week (no guarantee of hours)

VH Inpatient – General Surgery, Antimicrobial Stewardship/Infectious Diseases
Adult Emergency
Paediatric Hematology Oncology Pharmacist
Stem Cell Expansion Resource Development
UH Inpatient – Clinical Pharmacist
VH Prescription Centre – B-Tower
Review and monitor drug therapy to ensure safe, effective medication use.
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals.
Counsel and educate patients on their medications.
Participate in training and preceptorship for pharmacy students and residents.
Adhere to LHSC’s standards of patient and family-centered care and safety.
Baccalaureate Degree or Doctorate in Pharmacy (PharmD).
Registered as an A Pharmacist with the Ontario College of Pharmacists (OCP).
Professional Liability Insurance as prescribed by OCP.
Up to one year of recent related experience (one year preferred).
ACPR Hospital Pharmacy Residency certificate preferred.
Injection training course (OCP-approved) preferred.
Prescribing for Minor Ailments Certificate preferred.
Current First Aid & CPR-Level C (proof required upon request).
Proficiency in:
OCP Standards of Practice for Pharmacists
NAPRA Professional Competencies
Cerner, PharmNet, Powerchart, Kroll, and Powerchart Oncology systems
Microsoft Office suite
