Shoppers Drug Mart in Oliver, BC, is seeking a dedicated and qualified Pharmacist to join its locally owned and operated pharmacy. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in dispensing medications accurately, providing patient counselling, and managing inventory, while supervising pharmacy support staff. This position combines professional practice with customer service excellence, offering the opportunity to grow in a collaborative and patient-focused environment.

You will work under the guidance of an Associate-Owner, backed by the infrastructure of a well-established national brand, and be involved in delivering pharmacy services that meet the highest industry standards.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert advice to customers on prescription and over-the-counter medications, including dosage, side effects, interactions, and contraindications

  • Dispense prescribed medications and compound pharmaceutical products by measuring and mixing appropriate quantities of drugs

  • Manage pharmaceutical inventories: order, receive, and maintain stock to ensure proper drug availability

  • Check prescriptions for accuracy, including dosage and formulation

  • Maintain accurate patient records including medication history and compliance, as well as registries for narcotics and controlled substances

  • Supervise and coordinate activities of pharmacy assistants, technicians, and other staff (up to 5 people)

  • Ensure compliance with federal and provincial regulations governing the dispensing of medications

  • Uphold high standards of pharmacy practice in alignment with Shoppers Drug Mart values and protocols


Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy from a recognized university

  • Completion of supervised practical training in pharmacy

  • Active pharmacy license and registration (as required in British Columbia)

  • Minimum of 1 year of practical experience

  • Proficient in English (written and oral communication)

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of dispensing and documentation

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a strong commitment to customer service

  • Physically able to meet demands such as standing for extended periods, bending, crouching, and handling repetitive tasks


Working Conditions:

  • Full-time position

  • Shifts range between 6 to 12 hours per day, scheduled between 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM

  • Flexibility is required as some shifts may start earlier or finish later depending on business needs

  • Weekend work and overtime may be required
