Elgin Manor, a 90-bed long-term care home located just minutes from St. Thomas, Ontario, proudly operates as “the home where the heart is.” As part of its mission to provide compassionate and quality care to its residents, Elgin Manor is currently seeking Part-Time Personal Support Workers (PSWs) to join its team.

As a Personal Support Worker, you will be a vital part of the nursing care team. This role involves supporting residents with a wide array of daily living activities and ensuring their physical and emotional well-being. The position requires individuals with empathy, attention to detail, and a deep understanding of senior care needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide daily personal care to residents, including transfers, bathing, and hygiene.

• Assist with meal service, make beds, and perform light housekeeping such as tidying resident rooms.

• Carry out minor treatments and respond to call bells promptly.

• Maintain accurate daily reports and empty laundry carts.

• Participate in the implementation of resident-centered care plans and follow all routine procedures and assigned duties.

• Actively support a safe and respectful environment for all residents, staff, and visitors.

Qualifications:

• Completion of a Personal Support Worker program from a recognized post-secondary institution.

• Willingness to participate in ongoing training and in-service education related to the PSW field.

• Familiarity with Health & Safety procedures, the Resident Bill of Rights, and the Long-Term Care Homes Act.

• Commitment to providing safe, efficient, and compassionate care.

Conditions of Employment:

• Successful completion of a Police Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Clearance.

• Up-to-date Tuberculosis (TB) documentation.

• Hourly Wage: $30.87 – $31.30, plus:
