Personal Support Worker

 

Description:

SE Health is offering a sponsored training program for individuals who wish to become Personal Support Workers (PSWs) and make a difference in the lives of others. This program provides comprehensive training to equip individuals with the skills required for a career in healthcare and personal care.

Training Program Details:

  • 5 weeks of PAID PSW Training: Monday to Friday, 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM, at a rate of $18.05/hr.

  • After completing the first 5 weeks, candidates will work part-time in the community while continuing education.

  • The program continues with 4 months of virtual learning, 3 weeks of in-person skills lab, and required placements.

  • The training covers personal care activities, household management, and general support.

Requirements:

  • Ability to travel and attend meetings to support patient needs

  • Valid G or G2 driver’s license and a reliable vehicle (mandatory)

  • Standard First Aid and level C CPR certificate (must obtain within 3 weeks of start date)

  • Proof of required immunizations (MMR, Varicella/Zosters, HepB, Tetanus) and a negative TB test (within the last 6 months)

  • Clear police check and vulnerable sector check (upon job offer)
