Description:

Coughlin & Associates Ltd., a leading Canadian provider of group benefit and pension administration services and a division of People Corporation, is seeking a Pension Clerk to join its dedicated team in Winnipeg, MB. This full-time position offers an opportunity to work alongside industry experts and gain valuable knowledge in pension administration within a supportive and inclusive environment.

The Pension Clerk will support the Pension Department with a variety of administrative tasks including member data management, document handling, file maintenance, correspondence, and other duties essential to the processing and communication of pension benefits. This role is ideal for someone with strong administrative and data entry skills who is eager to learn about pension terminology and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enter, update, and manage member information in the pension database.

  • Maintain logs, lists, and individual member pension files including account details, benefit calculations, and correspondence.

  • Process enrolments, updates, address and beneficiary changes, and other member requests.

  • Prepare both individual and batch pension cheque requisitions.

  • Perform various data and document maintenance tasks such as scanning, faxing, filing, photocopying, and data entry.

  • Sort and log all incoming communications including mail, emails, and faxes.

  • Review data and work outputs for accuracy and completeness.

  • Prioritize assignments to ensure timely and efficient workflow.

  • Support the Pension Department with mail-outs and form distribution.

  • Follow up with members regarding previously issued correspondence.

  • Communicate with union halls, plan sponsors, consultants, and other stakeholders on behalf of plan members.

Qualifications:

  • Education at a secondary level or higher.

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.

  • Superior data entry abilities and familiarity with standard office administrative practices.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • High level of professionalism and discretion in handling confidential information.

  • Exceptional customer service skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with pension benefit administration and knowledge of policies specific to administered groups.

  • Strong organizational, multitasking, and time management abilities.

  • Proficiency in mathematical and reconciliation tasks.

  • Ability to follow and uphold existing company procedures and standards.
