Pediatric Radiology

Shared Health is inviting applications for a full-time Pediatric Radiologist to address labor shortages in Manitoba. The Pediatric Radiologist will be responsible for performing, interpreting, and consulting on diagnostic imaging for patients ranging from prenatal stages to young adults. Duties include interpreting a full spectrum of diagnostic imaging studies including body, musculoskeletal, thoracic, and CNS imaging. The Section of Pediatric Radiology conducts over 52,500 exams annually including plain films, fluoroscopy, ultrasound, MRI, and CT.

Onsite facilities include radiography rooms, fluoroscopy suite, ultrasound imaging rooms, CT scanner (Siemens FLASH), MRI (Siemens 1.5T), and access to a 3T MRI. The position requires active participation in academic teaching of radiology residents, pediatric residents, and medical students, as well as opportunities for clinical-imaging rounds and research. Future responsibilities may also include remote supervision of imaging exams in Northern and rural communities.

The Children’s Hospital in Winnipeg is the sole pediatric referral center in Manitoba, with an extended catchment that includes parts of Nunavut and Northwestern Ontario. This posting reflects both rising demand for pediatric radiology services and anticipated expansion in service delivery to remote areas.

Qualifications:

• Doctor of Medicine with specialization in Pediatric Radiology.

• Fellowship in Pediatric Radiology is mandatory.

• Eligibility for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.

• Registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba required.

• Equivalent international credentials may be considered for licensure.

• Experience in non-vascular interventional radiology is an asset but not essential.

Compensation & Benefits:

• Compensation provided under an Alternately Funded Agreement: CA$510000 annually (approx. CA$42500 monthly).
