As a member of the Grenfell Campus Information Technology Services department, the successful candidate for this position will be responsible for providing comprehensive professional leadership and support for the planning, installation, management, and maintenance of all computer, audio-visual, simulation, and multimedia systems (hardware and software) and related services for the Western Regional School of Nursing. Responsibilities include (but are not limited to) providing high-level technical support for the advanced systems used in nursing school classrooms and simulation labs; configuring and maintaining simulation mannequins and all connections/communications required for the simulation process; providing consultation, training, and assistance to faculty, staff, and students in the use of computer software and multimedia and audio-video equipment; ensuring the timely provision of multimedia instructional materials using common technologies (ex. Microsoft Teams, WebEx, PowerPoint, Desire2Learn, etc.); and performing other related duties as required. The role also includes collaboration with, and possible supervision of, external users and student assistants in the simulation lab. As this position is located at the Nursing School, Western Memorial Regional Hospital, a critical component of this role requires self-direction and ongoing coordination and collaboration with Grenfell Campus IT personnel to ensure the Schools computer and multimedia systems meet required specifications for security and performance. This position may require afterhours work.

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience (3-5 years) in providing general and advanced computing and multimedia/audio-visual support; graduation with a degree in Computer Science; or any equivalent combination of experience and training. This role requires extensive knowledge of, and experience in, managing and supporting computer systems and services and networking, as well as multimedia/audio-video systems and services (ex. lighting, sound, tele/videoconferencing, audio/video recording and editing, and data projection). As this is a support position for the Nursing School, applicants may be required to complete training in applicable Health Authority technologies and the Organizational Development Database. Applicants must be highly motivated, self-directed and able to work independently, maintain proficiency in modern computer and multimedia systems, and possess excellent interpersonal and organizational skills. Knowledge and experience with basic electronics, and in project management, are considered assets for this position.
