Description:
A reputable company in the automotive sales and distribution industry located on the South Shore of Quebec is seeking a Payroll Technician to join their team. This is a permanent full-time position with a flexible 37.5-hour work week and the option to work remotely 3 days per week.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring accurate payroll processing across multiple provinces in Canada, while also supporting HR-related financial reporting and benefits administration.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure accuracy and regular updates of employee records within the payroll system.
Handle the entire payroll cycle, ensuring compliance with internal policies and provincial legislation.
Generate Records of Employment (ROEs) and remit statutory deductions to government authorities.
Prepare payroll accounting entries and generate various monthly reports.
Collaborate in managing group benefit programs and commission calculations.
Input salary increases and other employee status changes into the system.
Contribute to the maintenance of HR dashboards.
Respond to employee and manager inquiries regarding payroll.
Provide support for the time management platform.
Prepare year-end reports including T4s, R1s, CNESST, and ISE filings.
Assist the VP of HR with various payroll-related analyses.

Required Qualifications:
DEC in Accounting or equivalent diploma
6 to 10 years of experience in a similar payroll role
Canadian Payroll Association designation (PCP or CPM) is required
Experience with Nethris payroll system
Fluency in both English and French (must be able to communicate with English-speaking employees across Canada)
Proficient in Excel, particularly pivot tables and VLOOKUP
