Optometric Assistant

CLEAR eye doctors | eyewear is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Optometric Assistant to join their professional eye care team in the Greater Toronto Area. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting optometrists in their daily clinical tasks, ensuring smooth operations, and delivering a high standard of patient care. Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the doctor in patient care by administering preliminary and diagnostic tests.

• Prepare examination rooms and maintain equipment for patient visits.

• Support contact lens fittings, dry eye treatments, and custom eyeglasses fittings.

• Educate patients on proper eyewear and contact lens care.

• Handle administrative duties including scheduling appointments, managing patient records, processing referrals, and billing/insurance claims.

• Order and manage inventory of contact lenses, glasses, and supplies.

• Provide excellent customer service to patients of all ages and act as a reliable point of contact for their concerns.

• Proficiency in computer applications and electronic medical records (EMR) systems.

Qualifications:

• College or university education (preferred).

• Front desk or customer service experience in a medical office or optical setting is desirable.

• Knowledge of basic medical terminology and eye anatomy is an asset.

• At least 2 years of experience preferred in optical/optometry settings, but motivated individuals willing to learn will also be considered.
