Optical Engineer

Description:

We are looking for a self-motivated, experienced level Optical Engineer with strong interpersonal skill and leadership potential who will thrive in a dynamic team environment. This position is in the new Industrial Machine Vision (IMV) division, located in Mississauga Ontario, under Data Capture Solutions (DCS) business unit, a world class leader in innovative data capture, asset intelligence and automation solutions. The candidate will start as a member of the Hardware Development Team and work on new product developments in the areas of 2D smart cameras, 3D sensors, and LED illumination.

Responsibilities
 

• Contributes during all phases of product development including concept generation, design, testing, and implementation
• Builds advanced models on key optical technologies.
• Provides multi-discipline support to production by resolving technical issues associated with components, parts, products or systems; testing of new and existing designs and documentation
• Performs system analysis and related analytical modeling on current and prototype designs. May apply quantitative analysis in determining root cause of highly technical problems and propose, develop and implement solutions for corrective action.
• Creates engineering documentation for design of optical instruments.
• Innovates on key optical technologies
• Provides leadership on optical related planning and technical program management.
• Delivers support for manufacturing optical instruments and products.
• Exercises judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Optical Science and Engineering, Physics Engineering or Physics from an accredited institution in Canada, or a comparable foreign university.
• Minimum 6-years of work experience .
