TECHNOLOGY DEPLOYMENT & OPERATIONS TECHNICIAN – AUDIO VISUAL

(INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SUPPORT C)

Department : Learning and Information Technology Division

Pre-approved OT hours paid as double-time, $83.48/hour

Hours : 7 hours per day, Monday-Friday

This position is 100% in-person at the VSB Education Centre (1580 West Broadway)

Responsibilities:

In this position, you will:
 

  • Implement, configure, and support cloud, network, endpoint, MDM, ITSM and security applications
  • Implement and configure audio visual equipment at Education Centre, provide support for meetings and events
  • Install and configure computer and mobile devices, server and directory services, system and application software, network nodes, IP devices, printers, scanners, and other technologies in schools and District locations
  • Establish standards and procedures and apply scripting language for system configuration
  • Configure, program and administrate the ITSM solution in the district
  • Implement the District’s printing initiative
  • Prepare and execute detailed plans for complex multi-functional projects
  • Research and analyze emerging trends in technology and systems architecture, evaluate alternatives and make recommendations
  • Develop and deliver training workshops for technical and end user audiences
  • Liaise with stakeholders, LIT teams, vendors, contractors and other third parties as required to support district services
  • Perform information technology support to the Division
  • Performs other related duties as required

     

Qualifications:
 

  • Completion of grade 12 plus three (3) years full-time of combined post-secondary education in information technology, electronics, electrical and telecommunications.
  • More than five (5) years of experience in the following: AV systems, mobile device management (MDM), endpoint protection, and IT service management (ITSM) solutions Experience working in a K-12 education organization an asset.
  • Strong technical skill in deploying and supporting AV and screen-sharing technologies (Apple TV, AirTame, AirPlay, Miracast, Google Cast), and video conferencing platforms (Teams, Zoom, Webex).
  • Proficient with Apple and Microsoft devices, endpoint security, and printing (Papercut).
  • Experienced in configuring and supporting networking, Mac/PC MDM, virtual environments, and O365, Azure AD, Intune, Jamf, PowerShell and ITSM tools.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and experience in designing/delivering presentations.
  • Must be able to meet the following assessment: Hands-on 1 hour series of tasks/problems (70%+).
  • Successful candidate must be willing to work evenings as required and be able to lift/carry/move weights up to 50 lbs. Evening work will be pre-scheduled and paid as OT (approx. 3 per month, 10 months of the year, 30 total).
