Description:

Loomis Express, a leading courier service provider under TFI International, is seeking a proactive Operations Supervisor to oversee package handling, employee management, and operational efficiency at their Kamloops, BC facility. The ideal candidate will lead Owner Operators, warehouse staff, and third-party delivery routes, ensuring timely freight movement and high-quality service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

🚚 Operational Management

  • Oversee the daily handling of packages and freight, ensuring adherence to company policies and time frames.
  • Ensure timely and accurate distribution of inbound and outbound freight.
  • Maintain sufficient staffing, materials, and supplies for seamless operations.
  • Organize the warehouse to ensure efficiency for the next shift.

âš™ Performance & Compliance

  • Establish and monitor productivity, quality, and cost metrics to achieve operational targets.
  • Conduct KPI tracking and adjust operations to meet delivery and pick-up standards.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures by all staff.
  • Develop and maintain a proactive safety program in compliance with regulations.

📈 Employee & Customer Relations

  • Manage and support Owner Operators, warehouse staff, and third-party pickup & delivery routes.
  • Investigate and address employee concerns, liaising with management and Employee Relations.
  • Handle customer complaints professionally and expediently to maintain service standards.

💰 Cost Management & Process Improvement

  • Identify and implement strategies to reduce operational costs while maintaining efficiency.
  • Ensure productivity and service level targets are met daily.
  • Maintain warehouse equipment in safe and efficient operating condition.

Qualifications & Skills:

✅ Education & Experience:

  • Experience in warehouse and/or delivery operations within the courier or logistics industry.
  • Proven ability to manage employees, training, and operational processes to meet goals.

✅ Technical & Analytical Skills:

  • Scheduling & deadline management experience to ensure timely deliveries.
  • Basic PC skills (Word processing & spreadsheets).

✅ Soft Skills & Mindset:

  • Strong interpersonal & communication skills (written & oral).
  • Problem-solving abilities to resolve operational challenges.
  • Ability to multitask and handle a fast-paced work environment.
  • Flexibility in working hours to meet operational demands.
