Barton Malow Canada, a division of the Barton Malow family of companies, is seeking an accomplished and visionary Director of Operations to lead and oversee the company’s construction activities across Ontario. This senior leadership position is responsible for the performance, direction, completion, and financial outcomes of multiple construction projects while ensuring alignment with organizational goals and strategic initiatives.
The successful candidate will be a dynamic operations leader with proven experience in managing large-scale construction portfolios, mentoring teams, and driving growth across industrial, energy, and automotive sectors.

Provide overall leadership and strategic direction for all Ontario construction operations.
Partner with Barton Malow leadership and affiliates to develop market and business strategies aligned with corporate objectives.
Support and facilitate client contract negotiations, preconstruction planning, and business partnership agreements.
Ensure projects are completed according to plans, specifications, schedules, budgets, and contractual requirements.
Lead, develop, and retain a high-performing team through mentorship and proactive workforce management.
Drive business growth by expanding Barton Malow Canada’s capabilities in energy, automotive, and mission-critical sectors.
Support strategic business development efforts and cultivate relationships with clients to identify new opportunities.
Manage financial forecasting, project budgets, and change orders, ensuring compliance with company standards.
Oversee weekly financial reporting to track operational and fiscal performance.
Ensure all projects are executed safely, with a strong focus on quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery.
Contribute to the creation and execution of the annual business plan for Barton Malow Canada.
Education: Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline.
Experience: 10–15+ years in construction management with a large-scale general contractor, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership capacity managing multiple projects.
Proven track record in operational and financial performance management of a business unit.
Strong relationships and professional presence within the construction and industrial sectors.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with clients, teams, and stakeholders.
Expertise in contract assessment and negotiation.
Demonstrated strategic leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.
Proficiency in financial forecasting, revenue projections, and business development strategy.
Ability to travel within Ontario and across Canada as needed (estimated 25–40%).
