Onsite It Technician

NetFusion Designs, a leading provider of Managed IT Support and Cloud Hosting Services, is seeking an experienced Onsite IT Technician to join its Toronto-based team. This role offers the opportunity to work directly with clients across diverse business environments, delivering advanced technical support, system upgrades, and infrastructure improvements.

The successful candidate will play a key role in server upgrades, Windows deployments, firewall installations, and troubleshooting, as well as general onsite IT maintenance. Key Responsibilities:

• Perform server installations, upgrades, and migrations across Windows Server, Hyper-V, and VMware environments.

• Deploy and configure Windows 10/11 systems, including imaging, domain joins, and user profile migrations.

• Install, configure, and troubleshoot firewalls (Meraki, FortiGate, SonicWall, or similar).

• Execute network infrastructure upgrades, including switching, Wi-Fi setup, and cabling validation.

• Provide onsite technical support for escalations from the service desk and critical client issues.

• Collaborate closely with the Network Operations Center (NOC) and Security Operations Center (SOC) teams to resolve network or security concerns.

• Maintain and document all system configurations, changes, and project activities within internal ticketing systems.

• Ensure all client environments comply with company standards, IT policies, and security best practices.

Qualifications and Skills Required:

• 3–5 years of direct experience in IT infrastructure support or field technical service.

• Strong proficiency with Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and Office 365 administration.

• Hands-on experience with major firewall platforms (Fortinet, Meraki, SonicWall, etc.).

• Good understanding of networking fundamentals such as VLANs, VPNs, subnets, and routing.

• Familiarity with backup and recovery tools (Veeam, Datto, or equivalent) is an asset.

• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and customer service skills.

• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to various client sites as required.

Preferred Certifications:

• CompTIA Network+ / Security+

• Microsoft Certified: Windows Server or Azure Administrator

• Fortinet NSE 4 / Cisco CCNA
