Description:

The Canadian Sugar Institute (CSI), a national non-profit association focused on nutrition science, public communication, and trade advocacy, is hiring a Coordinator, Nutrition Communications for a full-time, permanent role. This position supports the development, implementation, and evaluation of evidence-based nutrition programs and research initiatives, with a primary focus on communications.

This is an ideal opportunity for a Registered Dietitian with a strong foundation in nutrition science and a passion for translating complex information into engaging, accessible formats for public education and outreach.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Stay current on scientific research related to sugars, nutrition, and health.

  • Support the planning and execution of nutrition-related projects, educational initiatives, and events.

  • Co-develop engaging print and digital nutrition communication tools such as fact sheets, infographics, social media content, and website resources.

  • Apply knowledge translation strategies to improve the clarity and impact of all communications.

  • Contribute to CSI research activities by preparing summaries, presentations, and reports.

  • Use measurement tools and analytics to monitor and evaluate the success and reach of various programs and communications.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal team members and external stakeholders in alignment with CSI’s nutrition priorities.

  • Provide additional support in communications, research, and administrative duties as required.


Qualifications:

  • Registered Dietitian (RD) with at least a Bachelor’s degree in nutrition. A Master’s degree with emphasis in nutrition communications is strongly preferred.

  • Registered with the College of Dietitians of Ontario.

  • Minimum 2 years of professional experience in public health, community health, or non-profit settings.

  • Strong knowledge and application of dietetics, communications, and nutrition education.

  • French language skills are an asset.

  • Proficient in social media, content development tools like Canva, and digital analytics (e.g., Google Analytics).

  • Experience with website updates and maintenance is an advantage.
