Kwantlen Polytechnic University (KPU), recognized as one of BC’s Top Employers, is inviting applications for the position of Nursing Instructor to join the Graduate Nurse Internationally Educated Re-entry (GNIE) program within the Faculty of Health. The GNIE program is a full-time, one-year certificate designed to prepare internationally educated nurses (IENs) for professional nursing practice in Canada, with eligibility for licensure with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) and to write the NCLEX examination.
As part of this role, Nursing Instructors will contribute to educating, mentoring, and supporting IENs to renew and enhance their nursing knowledge and skills, adapt to the Canadian healthcare system, and develop effective communication and professional practice abilities. The position primarily involves clinical supervisory responsibilities, with placements taking place at hospitals across the Lower Mainland from North Vancouver to Chilliwack.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide clinical supervision and instruction to internationally educated nurses in the GNIE program.
Support students in renewing and enhancing their nursing knowledge and skills to meet Canadian professional practice requirements.
Guide learners in integrating into the Canadian healthcare setting and in preparing for licensure with BCCNM.
Enable students to develop effective patient care communication and professional collaboration skills.
Foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment that values diversity and equity.
Qualifications:
Master’s Degree in Nursing (or Master’s Degree in progress).
Practicing membership eligibility with BCCNM without restrictions.
Related work experience in Canada.
Experience in integration and education of internationally educated nurses is preferred.
