New Graduate Software Engineer

Capital One Canada is seeking passionate and motivated new graduates to join as Associate Software Engineers. This is an excellent opportunity to start your career with a leading financial technology company that combines banking innovation with cutting-edge engineering.

As a new hire, you will be part of the Tech Development Program (TDP), a one-year immersive program designed to build your technical and professional skills. Associates will gain exposure to different technology stacks, frameworks, and teams while contributing to impactful projects that improve the banking experience for Canadians.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work within an agile team throughout the software development life cycle, from design to deployment.

• Collaborate with designers, product analysts, and fellow engineers to implement new applications or enhance existing ones.

• Develop clean, scalable, and efficient code to meet acceptance criteria.

• Conduct design and code reviews, ensuring adherence to quality and best practices.

• Build, test, and deploy CI/CD pipelines for AWS cloud environments.

• Support cybersecurity enhancements and ensure robust application security.

• Develop backend microservices, APIs, and frontend applications using frameworks such as React, Angular, and mobile platforms.

• Maintain records of program development, revisions, and provide third-level technical support as required.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree obtained between Sept 2025 and Sept 2026.

• Strong communication, presentation, and technical writing skills.

• Understanding of testing fundamentals and experience with Unix/Linux environments.

• Team-oriented with the ability to actively collaborate in discussions.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with frontend frameworks (React, Vue, Angular, mobile).

• Knowledge of programming languages such as Java, Python, NodeJS, Kotlin, Swift, GoLang.

• Familiarity with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, version control (Git), and microservices architecture.

• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS – S3, EC2, Lambda, etc.) and monitoring tools (Splunk, Cloudwatch, New Relic).
