Network Administrator

Description:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Network Administrator with strong expertise in enterprise routing and security to join our team. In this role, the incumbent will be responsible for designing, deploying, maintaining, and optimizing the core routing infrastructure to ensure seamless data flow, high availability, and robust network security across the LAN, WAN, and data center environments.

The Network Administrator will implement and manage complex routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP to ensure optimal traffic pathing, redundancy, and reliable connectivity across multiple service providers. This position will oversee WAN architecture, including SD-WAN deployments, MPLS circuits, and siteto-site VPN tunnels, while optimizing network convergence, routing table performance, and traffic shaping across multi-homed internet connections and cloud environments. Maintaining accurate network topology diagrams, IP address management records, and configuration backups will also be a key responsibility. In addition, the Network Administrator will monitor and optimize network performance through advanced troubleshooting and packet-level analysis to identify and resolve routing loops, switching bottlenecks, and other network anomalies. The successful applicant will plan and execute firmware upgrades, security patches, and hardware refresh initiatives for core routing and switching infrastructure to ensure stability, performance, and security. A strong focus on security and compliance is essential. The role includes designing, deploying, configuring, and maintaining enterprise next-generation firewall (NGFW) solutions across on-premises, data center, and cloud environments. The successful candidate will manage firewall access control lists (ACLs), NAT policies, security profiles, threat prevention features, SSL/TLS decryption, and URL filtering. Working closely with the cybersecurity team, the incumbent will implement network segmentation, enforce secure routing practices, and maintain firewall policies that align with organizational security standards. Responsibilities also include implementing and auditing 1DS/IPS and WAF technologies, as well as conducting regular firewall rule reviews to eliminate redundant, insecure, or outdated policies and ensure ongoing compliance

As a senior technical resource, the Network Administrator will serve as a Tier 3/4 escalation point for complex connectivity issues, routing convergence challenges, and network outages. The incumbent will participate in an on-call rotation to support scheduled maintenance activities and emergency incident response, while also mentoring and providing guidance to junior and intermediate network administrators to support team growth and knowledge sharing.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

Experience (5-7 years) in an enterprise network environment with increasing levels of responsibility; graduation from university with a degree in a relevant field is required; or an equivalent combination of experience and training may be considered. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills; the ability to work as part of a team in a dynamic, fast-paced environment; a strong capacity for attention to detail; and the ability to document work.
