Description:

JOELLE is a dynamic fashion brand offering accessible designer clothing and accessories, and we are expanding rapidly since our creation in 2016. We are currently seeking a talented Multimedia Writer, Translator, and Proofreader to join our team. This role combines strategic writing, bilingual translation, and linguistic revision skills to support the production of marketing and digital content. The position will ensure the quality, consistency, and tone of all written communications on various platforms, including our website, newsletters, social media, banners, advertising campaigns, and more.

You will also play a key role in writing product descriptions for Shopify, collaborating with styling and merchandising teams to highlight product features, and ensuring the language and content align with the brand’s voice. The role demands strong written and oral proficiency in both French and English to provide a seamless customer experience and maintain high bilingual communication standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Marketing and Digital Writing

   • Write marketing content in French and English (newsletters, banners, articles, social media, website pages, in-store signage).

   • Ensure editorial consistency across all JOELLE digital platforms.

   • Actively participate in the newsletter strategy, working closely with the marketing team.

   • Adapt messages to various formats, platforms, and audiences while maintaining the brand’s voice.

2. Translation and Cultural Adaptation

   • Translate marketing and e-commerce content (FR/EN and EN/FR) idiomatically, following best localization practices.

   • Adjust messages to align with the cultural realities of Quebec, Canadian, and North American markets.

   • Review translated content for accuracy, fluidity, and brand alignment.

3. Linguistic Revision and Quality Control

   • Proofread and correct all texts produced by the marketing team (grammar, spelling, syntax, style).

   • Ensure consistency of terminology used in internal and external communications.

   • Maintain and enrich an internal glossary to standardize key terms and expressions.

4. Product Descriptions – Shopify

   • Write product descriptions in French and English based on technical specifications and style notes.

   • Highlight product features (fit, fabric, possible pairings, lifestyle context).

   • Ensure alignment of product descriptions with the brand’s editorial tone.

   • Collaborate with e-commerce and styling teams during weekly product updates.

5. Team Collaboration

   • Participate in weekly content coordination meetings.

   • Collaborate with the creative, styling, e-commerce, and marketing teams.

   • Provide editorial support during strategic periods (launches, events, store openings).

Qualifications and Skills:

• Excellent mastery of French and English, both written and spoken.

• Relevant training in writing, translation, linguistics, communication, or journalism.

• Experience in marketing writing, translation, or editing within a digital/e-commerce context.

• Ability to write clearly, engagingly, and in line with a defined brand voice.

• Strong attention to detail and linguistic precision.

• Knowledge of SEO writing practices is a plus.

• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with fixed deadlines.

• Autonomy, editorial judgment, and initiative.

• Collaborative spirit and ability to work with various teams.
