Description:
The Middleware Specialist, FCC is responsible for the design, development and support of FCC’s middleware platforms. The middleware specialist works on projects, client initiatives, supports integrated solutions for FCC Applications and is a member of an agile shared services platform.
What You Will Do
Develop APIs, integration processes and execute on system flows according to technical design documents
- Responsible for authoring API documentation
- Accountable for platform development and configuration adhering to architectural design, standards, and policies
- Complete unit tests
- Conduct performance tests as needed
Participate in deployment and release activities
- Responsible for promoting code and configuration changes through non-prod and production environments
- Participate in enterprise change management processes
- Work with stakeholders to plan and coordinate middleware releases
Provide support on technical issues
- Responsible for providing production support of middleware issues to internal and external teams
- Responsible for engaging and following up with middleware technology platform vendors to troubleshoot issues. This is typically through tickets and account manager communication
- Provide support off hours on an as needed basis
Work with internal teams to understand requirements and end to end solutions
- Participate in client, vendor or project meetings to plan deliverables, report on status and collaborate in an agile working environment
- Provide estimates on development work and communicate tasks effectively to project managers/product owners
What We’re Looking For
- University degree, preferably in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
- 3-5 years of development experience of APIs in REST and SOAP
- 3+ years of experience in an iPassS, ETL or ESB environment
- Good knowledge of topics, queues, and event-oriented architecture concepts
- Working knowledge of JSON and XML
- Knowledge in cloud, hybrid and on-prem infrastructures is an asset
- Knowledge of TLS, OAuth2, OIDC, SSO, JWT is an asset
