IFG – International Financial Group is seeking a highly experienced Middle Office Manager to join a large financial institution on a 12-month contract. This interim leadership role is critical to maintaining operational excellence while senior management focuses on a major reporting modernization initiative.
The successful candidate will oversee key middle office functions, including collateral operations, trade processing, reconciliations, and exception management. This role requires a seasoned leader who can ensure control, compliance, and operational stability in a high-paced, high-volume environment.
Provide day-to-day leadership and oversight for a team of 10+ middle office professionals.
Manage core functions such as collateral operations, trade processing, daily reconciliations, and control management.
Act as the primary escalation point for operational issues, ensuring timely resolution in collaboration with stakeholders (Front Office, Risk, Finance, Compliance).
Monitor KPIs, coach team members, and ensure targets are met during a critical transformation period.
Partner with cross-functional teams to implement process efficiencies, improve reporting accuracy, and adopt best practices.
Maintain strong risk and control awareness in line with internal policies and regulatory standards.
Act as the operational bridge between Middle Office and Collateral Management during remediation initiatives.
8+ years of progressive experience in Middle Office or related areas.
Proven people management experience, ideally leading teams of 7 or more.
Strong expertise in OTC derivatives, including trade lifecycle management and collateral processes.
Excellent communication and escalation handling skills with senior stakeholders.
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related discipline (CFA, CPA, FRM preferred).
Hands-on experience in large financial institutions or capital markets environments is highly desirable.
Competitive hourly compensation: CA$48 – CA$58 per hour (CA$8,320 – CA$10,053/month).
