Metadata Lead

Description:

Themesoft Inc. is actively seeking a highly experienced Metadata Lead for a Toronto-based role. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in metadata management, data governance principles, and leading metadata strategy and operations. You will be responsible for leading a team of metadata professionals, developing and maintaining metadata processes, and ensuring proper cataloging, classification, and indexing of data assets.

This role requires a professional who can bridge technical and business needs effectively and who is capable of leading strategic initiatives related to metadata in complex data environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operationalize metadata management processes and best practices across the organization

• Serve as the key point of contact for all metadata-related initiatives

• Develop and manage data catalogs, business glossaries, taxonomies, and data lineage

• Conduct metadata audits to monitor and enhance data environments

• Lead a team of metadata professionals to ensure successful project execution

• Translate complex technical information into business-friendly communication

• Utilize tools such as Collibra, Purview, and Informatica in an administrative and leadership capacity

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• 5–7 years of hands-on experience in metadata management and governance

• Proficiency in tools like Collibra, Purview, and Informatica

• Strong experience in creating data models, glossaries, taxonomies, and lineage

• Experience leading technical teams and coordinating deliverables

• Must be Protected B Clearance ready (RCMP-certified)

• Background in data or solutions architecture is a plus

• Collibra Ranger designation is a plus but not required

Certifications Required:

• Candidate must be eligible and ready to obtain Protected B Clearance
