The Ontario Scholastic Soccer League (OSSL) is seeking dedicated and visionary professionals to serve as Members of its Board of Advisors. This volunteer role offers an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the transformation of youth soccer in Canada by creating an inclusive, school-based system that nurtures both athletic and academic excellence.

OSSL is redefining how young soccer talent is identified and developed, ensuring equitable access and eliminating financial barriers. Supported by an esteemed advisory board of Canadian sport leaders, OSSL provides a platform where student-athletes can thrive regardless of background or resources.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide strategic guidance to shape OSSL’s long-term direction and operational priorities.

• Offer professional expertise in areas such as finance, marketing, community engagement, governance, or sport development.

• Support fundraising and partnership-building initiatives to enhance league sustainability and outreach.

• Review and evaluate organizational plans, budgets, and performance metrics to ensure accountability and growth.

• Act as an ambassador for OSSL by fostering connections with schools, local communities, and sport organizations.

• Participate in periodic virtual advisory meetings and offer mentorship to OSSL’s leadership team.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in one or more of the following: sport management, education, marketing, fundraising, research, business development, or non-profit leadership.

• Strong strategic thinking, communication, and collaboration abilities.

• Capacity to provide constructive feedback and professional insights to guide organizational success.

• Demonstrated passion for youth development, community engagement, and equity in sport.

• Experience within Canadian soccer, sport education, or governance is a strong asset.

• Comfortable working independently and contributing effectively in a remote advisory capacity.
