This position will support our Immunology Patient Value Unit (PVU) in an assigned geography.
What You’ll Do
- Maintaining deep scientific knowledge in Immunology, preferably Rheumatology.
- Identifying, establishing, and maintaining collaborative relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), clinical specialists, and researchers, and conducting scientific exchanges in areas of focus.
- Delivering clinical value propositions and engaging with key decision-makers in medical groups, integrated delivery networks (IDNs), and regional payers.
- Identifying and supporting potential research expansion projects, collaborations, medical advisors, and educational partnerships.
- Conducting local roundtables and education programs to enhance KOL understanding of unmet clinical needs.
- Serving as a scientific expert at medical and scientific conferences, advisory boards, clinical investigator meetings, and internal meetings.
- Supporting and collaborating with field-based cross-functional teams to provide medical insights and expertise.
- Reviewing and critiquing scientific publications to inform healthcare trends in Immunology.
- Collecting, analyzing, and communicating information concerning therapeutic areas, treatment options, emerging standards of care, and competitive intelligence.
- Addressing medical information inquiries and providing effective clinical presentations to internal and external audiences.
- Locally supporting UCB clinical investigations and assessing feasibility, serving as the primary liaison for unsolicited Investigator-Initiated Studies (IISs) from inception to publication.
- Providing field updates for the creation and/or updating of Standard Response Letters.
- Operating at the highest level of UCB compliance and professional standards. Ethical decision-making and adherence to company guidelines are expected in all activities.
Interested? For this role we’re looking for the following education, experience and skills
- Doctorate degree (PharmD, MD, DO or PhD in a relevant field).
- 2+ years of demonstrated experience as an MSL required; 5+ years preferred.
- Prior experience within immunology, specifically rheumatology or dermatology strongly preferred.
- Ability to clearly articulate complex scientific concepts in 1:1 and group settings.
- Basic business acumen with a solid understanding of the pharmaceutical industry
- Basic knowledge and understanding of health economic principles and clinical trials
- Extensive travel (up to 75%) required, including overnights and some weekends.
- Valid Driver’s License and with no more than 3 moving violations in the past 2 years
- Must reside within the assigned territory
