The Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre (RVH) is inviting applications for the role of Medical Physicist to join its Hudson Regional Cancer Centre located in Barrie, Ontario. This centre serves as the gateway to central Ontario’s scenic cottage and ski country and offers a vibrant community with a high quality of life.

The Medical Physics team currently comprises 6 Medical Physicists, 2 Physics Associates, 2 Engineering Technologists, and an IT Specialist. The successful candidate will be joining a collaborative and skilled group dedicated to advancing radiation oncology and patient care.

Facilities & Technology:

• Four Varian Truebeam Linear Accelerators and one Varian Clinac iX

• Canon Exceed LB CT Simulator

• Bravos HDR Brachytherapy system

• Eclipse treatment planning system

• ARIA oncology information system

• Active collaboration with diagnostic imaging and nuclear medicine programs for the integration of MRI and PET-CT in treatment planning

Key Responsibilities:

• Acceptance and commissioning of new equipment

• Implementation of new techniques and protocols

• Quality assurance testing and oversight

• Chart checking and verification of treatment plans

• Clinical consultations with radiation oncologists and therapists

• Training and education of staff in medical physics principles and techniques

Qualifications:

• MSc or PhD in Medical Physics

• Completion of an accredited Medical Physics residency program

• Certification by CCPM (or equivalent) is an asset

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly

• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams
