Description:
William Osler Health System, a leading healthcare provider in Canada, is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technologist to join its team. The role involves performing a range of tests and procedures related to the three core laboratory modalities while ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards. The candidate will also act as a technical resource, manage inventory, maintain regulatory equipment, and provide training and orientation to frontline staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct various laboratory tests and procedures across core laboratory modalities.
- Serve as a technical resource for staff.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and operational guidelines.
- Maintain and manage laboratory equipment and inventory.
- Participate in project validations and procedural improvements.
- Train and guide frontline staff in laboratory operations.
- Manage workflow efficiently, ensuring timely test results and laboratory efficiency.
- Utilize hospital and laboratory information systems for documentation.
Qualifications & Skills Required:
- Graduate of an accredited medical laboratory technology program (CSMLS).
- Registered with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario.
- Minimum three years of experience as a laboratory technologist.
- Experience working in multiple core laboratory modalities (preferred).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal & written).
- Experience in developing processes and procedures is an asset.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and problem-solve in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent knowledge of computer systems and laboratory software.
- Demonstrated commitment to continuous education and professional development.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Willingness to work and travel across all Osler sites.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Salary Range: $4226 to $5330 per month.
- HOOPP Pension Plan – Employer contributes $1.26 for every dollar invested.
